Hi everyone!
Welcome to the Plerdy channel. My name is Marta, I am a Marketing Manager, and in this video, I will show you how to set up content blocking to get leads.
Before we start – make sure you subscribe to our channel and don’t miss new videos.
Marketers use gated content to generate leads by providing prospects with valuable information in exchange for their name, email address, industry, title, and other contact information.
Mostly, this is used for the assets like white papers, videos, ebooks, product demos, or case studies. So some valuable information that can be interesting for the user, and he is likely to give his contact details to read more. If you add the content blocking pop-ups for pages that don’t provide any value, such as product pages, the result can be pretty bad. Users will more likely leave that page. So be careful with the content blocking and use it for valuable content pieces that you know will get your visitors interested.
Setting up the gated content is easy and requires just one click. We need to go to the Plerdy account and open the forms and feedback tab, this can be a new form, or we can edit one of the old forms.
Let’s assume I am creating a new one. It can be any form. The process is as always. The difference is only in one last step – we go to setting and disable the “Show close button.”
And that’s it. Now our users won’t be able to see the content on the page until they fill in the form. Other rules and settings are up to you. The good practice is giving your users a sneak peek in the beginning to be more interested in filling in the form and reading further. Because if you are going to block the content from the beginning before the user gets the idea of what this page/content is about – they are not likely to give you contact info for getting to know more.
That’s all for now. Hope the video was helpful!
Wish you a great day! Bye.
